Amsterdam Beach

Zandvoort aan Zee, also called Amsterdam Beach by tourists, is located on the North Sea.  Nearby you will find cosy cities like Haarlem and Amsterdam. Zandvoort is a real seaside resort where you can enjoy yourself to the fullest. Of sun, sea and beach. Along the entire boulevard you will find beach pavilions where you can lounge and chill out during the summer months. You can also find cozy restaurants and bars for a snack or a drink.

Holland Casino

Holland Casino is less than 300 metres from Hotel Paradis. The casino is perfect for a cosy and exciting evening out. They have many table games such as American Roulette, Black Jack and Poker. You can also take a guess at one of the many slot machines. The restaurant is open until 01.30 hours, where you can enjoy dinner.

Beach pavilions

Most beach pavilions close their doors at the end of October. They are allowed to open again in March. But there are a number of beach pavilions open all year round in Amsterdam Beach. Some of them are Tijn Akersloot and Thalassa.

But very trendy and hip are also Vooges, Ubuntu Beach or Tent 6. And if you want to go a bit further away, in the direction of Bloemendaal aan Zee, you can also choose for example Woodstock’69. Rapa Nui is also open all year round.

When visiting the beach, you can of course have a glass of wine at one of the pavilions.

Food and drinks

In Zandvoort aan Zee you will find many restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal. Next to the restaurant of Holland Casino and the many beach pavilions you have to go to the Haltestraat, the Kerkplein or the Kerkstraat for dinner or a cocktail. These streets are less than 100 metres away from Hotel Paradis.

And would you like to dine in a restaurant with two Michelin stars? Then take a taxi to De Bokkedoorns. This restaurant is located on the Zeeweg in Overveen. De Bokkedoorns has had a star since 1978. They got the second one in 1991. For years, this restaurant has been renowned for its good taste. A sensation for the culinary lover. We advise you to book well in advance.

Amsterdam

Zandvoort aan Zee is not called Amsterdam Beach by tourists for nothing. It is less than 25 minutes away from the capital of the Netherlands. You get on the train in Zandvoort and within half an hour it brings you to the city with its canals, museums, restaurants and shops.

Once you’re in Amsterdam, enjoy it to the fullest. Take a canal cruise or visit the Rijksmuseum. You’ll also find the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum on Museumplein, where modern art hangs. Take your time, because the trains run until late in the evening. And Zandvoort station is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel.

If you visit Zandvoort, you’ll also visit Amsterdam.

Haarlem

Haarlem is even closer to Zandvoort. This is the cosiest shopping city in the Netherlands. And also in this city there is a lot to admire. Relax on the terrace overlooking the Grote- or Sint Bavokerk. And have you become curious? Then take a look inside the church. You’ll immediately notice the Müller organ. Mozart and Handel still played it.

Haarlem is also home to the oldest museum in the Netherlands. The Teylers Museum. And you’ll find the Frans Hals Museum. Frans Hals was one of the Dutch Masters of the Golden Age. Saw everything? In Haarlem you’ll find many restaurants on the square kilometer. And you can catch the train back to Zandvoort until late in the evening.

In Zandvoort and time left? Then be sure to visit Haarlem.

Surroundings

In addition to the large cities of Amsterdam and Haarlem, you can also look for peace and quiet in the countryside around Zandvoort. There are many cycling and walking tours through the region and through National Park Zuid-Kennemerland.

The Keukenhof is also just around the corner. The park is open in the spring for lovers of the colours of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils.

The surroundings of Zandvoort aan Zee are also very fascinating.
